October Meeting – Alex Byrne
October 3 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join us for the October Meeting – English Paper Piecing Then & Now presented by Alex Byrne. You can find more of her work on her website.
Alex Byrne is a multi-talented artist, whose focus is on quilting, and who will present her lecture, “English Paper Piecing – Then and Now.” From its humble beginnings to its current modern iterations, Alex will cover the long history of the technique, and hopes listeners will “be keen to get started on their own projects when they hear about the ease and transportability of this method.” Alex also teaches sewing, knitting, embroidery and crochet, and coaches other artists on marketing and selling their art.
Orphan Blocks
Is there any quilter out there who doesn’t have orphan blocks? If you’d like to put them to good use for the next Guild challenge, please bring them to the October and November meetings. We will launch our Orphan Block Quilt Challenge in December, redistributing the blocks to participants, who will adopt them and produce their own creations. The finale show-and-tell will be in March.
